Openly Isolated

Today we live in a world that revolves around technology. We
are constantly being bombarded with advertisements, messages, news as well as an
impersonal connection to our peers through the use of social media. We look
into the lives of our peers, but we only look through our personal windows
rather then actually going out to spend time with the person. Isolation creeps
over those absorbed in social media and it becomes our only access to the
outside world.
In the open world we have never felt more alone. We possess
so much power and knowledge in the palm of our hands yet our most powerful tool
makes us feel the most vulnerable. Our technology has become a safety blanket
rather than something to make us stronger.
